Coordinated School Health Welcome to Humphreys County Coordinated School Health (CSH)! Coordinated School Health (CSH) is a program designed to improve the physical, mental, emotional, and social dimensions of health; develop health knowledge, attitudes, and skills; and is tailored to each age level. Our goal in Humphreys county is to motivate students to maintain and improve their health and to provide them with the knowledge and skills they need to be healthy for a lifetime. Our overall goal is to: Why is a Coordinated School Health Program Important? Students learn to make healthy decisions. When nutritious food is available at school, students are not hungry and can learn better. More students have access to health care. Students and families get emotional support during critical times. Physically active students are more alert and concentrate better in the classroom. Teachers and staff can be role models for fitness. With family involvement in schools, programs reflect the needs, priorities, and values of the community. Students who feel secure and cared for can focus on learning.
What are the Measurable Effects of CSH? Improved attendance (students and staff). Greater academic success Increased participation in physical fitness activities Greater interest in healthier diets & lifestyles. Increased use of school health and counseling services. Decreased disciplinary problems. Increased awareness & involvement by families and community in the health needs of students. Better overall school climate.
